At 17:49 on the 5th of May 1821, Napoleon the Great passed away at Longwood House, on the island of Saint Helena. Ever since, the 5th of May has been a day for honouring his memory and that of the civilians and soldiers who have worked for him, either under his leadership, or following his example.

In order to allow more people to take part in this event, it has been renewed for the 15th of December, anniversary of the « Return of the Emperor’s Ashes » in 1840.

For those who will be present/ taking part in the ceremonies on the 5th of May this year, don’t forget to mention it to those around you… particularly those who’d like to be there too.

For those who won’t be able to be present, this Facebook event is particularly addressed to you :
